We recently completed a 10,000 sq m office scheme for a global technology company in Munich. The project saw the creation of work spaces for over 500 employees across eight floors. This included five server rooms, an in-house gym, a restaurant with a large kitchen, a ground floor lounge and cafe and 11 kitchens that are able to supply employees across the rental space.
Our team delivered a timely completion within the specified budget. In addition to the high demands on the implementation of the architecture, the fully automated building technology (HVAC) was a further challenge. With a ceiling height of 3m, there was a constant struggle for every millimetre, and due to the industrial design, the construction (ventilation, HVAC and other systems) had to be made visible.
There was much focus on the materials used to fulfil certification requirements for LEED Platinum. Our team worked closely with our customer on its own ‘Healthy Material Vetting’ - a database of materials that promotes even higher standards than LEED. Interactions with the owner and the project managers / craftsmen also required a high degree of coordination, durability and cooperation.
